Who can use Episil Oral Spray?
episil oral liquid spray is used for the treatment of oral pain caused by oral mucositis. Oral mucositis can be induced by radiation and chemotherapy during cancer treatment. The risk is higher with certain types of drugs prescribed for certain types of cancers. It is also much higher if you receive both radiation and chemotherapy.
Study suggest beneficial effect of episil® liquid when used by children and adolescents. However, as children generally have a smaller oral cavity, the dose may need to be adjusted. Use episil® oral liquid for effective pain relief.
You can start using episil® oral liquid at the same time as you start your treatment cycle of chemo and/or radiotherapy.
Clinical studies of episil® liquid showed that the severity of oral mucositis may be reduced if the product is used before the first symptoms develop
Recommended dose: 1-3 pump strokes, 2-3 times per day or as needed.
Remove the protective cap from the metering pump.
Prior to the first use, prime the pump mechanism by firmly pumping into a tissue until an even stream of liquid is delivered
Firmly press the pump with your thumb and apply the stream of liquid to affected areas in the mouth 1-3 times.
Distribute in the mouth, for example by using the tongue.** The protective film will form within a few minutes.
Repeat the treatment 2-3 times a day, or as needed. episil® oral liquid can also be applied prior to eating.
*If there is an abundant amount of mucus present, then it is recommended to rinse the mouth with water before using episil® oral liquid. **In case other means of distribution are used, please take precautions to avoid contamination.

episil® oral liquid is intended for use in the oral cavity (mouth), as far as the pharynx, and is harmless if ingested.
Side Effects
There are no known risks or side effects of episil® oral liquid, however the product contains small amounts of ethanol, which may cause a short-lasting burning sensation when applied to affected areas in the mouth.
The product should not be used if you are allergic to any of its components.
Ingredients
episil® liquid contains mainly lipids: glycerol dioleate which is a metabolite of fats in the diet and phospholipid (soy lecithin). Other ingredients: Ethanol, Propylene glycol, Polysorbate 80 and Peppermint oil.
