Dimeticone: keeps the skin moisturised and helps prevent scabs from cracking
Cetrimide: is an antiseptic which helps prevent further infection of the broken skin
Chlorocresol: also an antiseptic which helps prevent further infection of the broken skin
Cold sores are common and usually clear up on their own within 10 days. But there are things you can do to help ease the pain.
A cold sore usually starts with a tingling, itching or burning feeling.

Side effects are rare, however, cetostearyl alcohol may cause skin reactions such as inflammation and redness where the cream has been applied (contact dermatitis).
