What is Acidex Advance Oral suspension peppermint flavour?
Acidex Advance Oral Suspension peppermint flavour500ml (Acidex Advance) belongs to a group of medicines called “reflux suppressants”. Reflux is when the acid stomach contents flow back up the gullet (oesophagus) and this can cause pain and discomfort known as heartburn or acid indigestion.
This medicine contains the active ingredients sodium alginate and potassium hydrogen carbonate which together form a protective layer at the top of your stomach to stop reflux from happening by keeping the stomach contents away from the lining of the food pipe to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and acid indigestion. It can therefore be taken to prevent and relieve the symptoms of acid reflux, including during pregnancy and relieve the symptoms of conditions such as hiatus hernia (protrusion of muscle through a muscle wall), reflux oesophagitis (inflamed foodpipe) and symptoms of hoarseness and other voice disorders, sore throat and cough associated with reflux. It can also be taken to control heartburn symptoms which may occur when taking, or following withdrawal
of medication to reduce stomach acid such as Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) or H2 Antagonists.
Acidex medicine alleviates the painful conditions resulting from the reflux of gastric acid and bile into the oesophagus by suppressing the reflux itself. It is indicated in heartburn, including heartburn of pregnancy, dyspepsia associated with gastric reflux, hiatus hernia, reflux oesophagitis, regurgitation and all cases of epigastric and retrosternal distress where the underlying cause is gastric reflux.
How To Use
Acidex Advance Oral Suspension should be taken by mouth, after meals and at bedtime. Shake bottle well before use.
Leave 1-2 hours between taking this medicine and other medicines. If you are unsure how to use this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults, children over 12 years and the elderly: Take 5-10ml
Children under 12 years: Only to be used under medical supervision.
If symptoms persist for more than 7 days contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Acidex Advance Oral Suspension contains parahydroxybenzoates (parabens, E214 and E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
Acidex Advance Oral Suspension contains about 5.1mmol of sodium and 2mmol of potassium per 10 ml dose. To be taken into consideration by patients on a controlled sodium diet or when taking drugs which can increase potassium levels. Care should also be taken if on calcium controlled diet.
Acidex Advance Oral Solution can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, however it is recommended to limit the treatment duration as much as possible.
Do not take Acidex Advance Oral Suspension if you:
Are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients in this medicine, including the esters of hydroxybenzoates (parabens).
You must tell your doctor or pharmacist and take special care if you are:
On a sodium restricted diet, taking drugs which can increase potassium levels, or suffer from too much calcium in the blood.
Treating children younger than 12 years of age, as this is not generally recommended, except on medical advice .

72 HOURS OF UNPROTECTED SEX – Levonorgestrel Morning After Pill is an emergency contraceptive that can be used within 72 hours (3 days) of unprotected sex or if your usual contraceptive method has failed.
USE AFTER UNPROTECTED SEX – If you have had unprotected sex, take Levonorgestrel Morning After Pill as soon as possible. The sooner you take it, the more effective it will be.
IF YOUR USUAL CONTRACEPTIVE METHOD HAS FAILED – If you are using a barrier method of contraception eg condoms, spermicides, diaphragm etc but this has failed eg broken condom, spilt spermicide etc then you can use Levonorgestrel Morning After Pill
