How does Eurax cream work to relieve skin irritation?
The active substance, Crotamiton, is a new treatment for itching that has been found to be effective in relieving persistent itching. The cream may provide relief from your condition for 6-10 hours after applying it every day or even just once when you first start noticing signs & sensations of an allergic reaction such as tingling sensation across the skin’s surface.
What causes itchy skin (pruritis)?

stearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis) and methyl hydroxybenzoate which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).

Do not use: In or around the eyes, on broken skin, for weeping skin conditions or if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients. Do not smoke or go near naked flames – risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally remove it.
Cautions: Eurax Cream is not recommended in pregnancy. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Eurax Cream if you are breastfeeding, or suffering from genital itching. Eurax Cream should only be used under the direction of your doctor.
